Something to Adore

I’m so excited for these guys. They’ve been slogging away in the independent live scene for years, and have finally self-funded an amazing debut album which is worthy of a place on the shelf of many music fans.

I’ll probably get in trouble, but here’s a sneak peak at the artwork, which I’ve been collaborating on (collaborations are my new favourite thing) with a talented painter called James Tapscott.

A sneak peak at the .hinge artwork

It’s not the first real CD I’ve worked on at all, but it’s my favourite. They way the booklet folds in on itself and matches up is damn cleaver, and the fact that everything except the art is so minimalist and understated is a beautiful thing. It’s slick and classy, if I do say so myself.

They picked up distribution through MGM Australia, so it should be on CD shelves very soon. If you’re curious about their sound, you can download an sampler MP3 sampler with 30 seconds from each track on Something to Adore.

I’m also flat-out working on a new website for them, which was supposed to be ready for the CD launch, but sadly, we’ve all run out of time.

For those of you in Melbourne with nothing to do Saturday night (the 5th March), I highly recommend you get into the city centre, and come and see .hinge perform with 3 other really cool bands at the Hi-Fi Bar and Ballroom (Swanston Street, Melbourne CBD). Tickets are $15 on the door.
