iTunes Music Store for Australia

Published 30 October 04 by Justin French

I know we’re not the biggest market in the world, and I know everyone still thinks we have Kangaroos bouncing down the main street of out little towns with unpaved roads, but seriously, I’ve been waiting a long long time for iTMS.

I feel like I’m only getting half the value out of iTunes, and every time I go out and buy a full album just for that “one song I like”, Apple has lost a sale.

So what’s the hold-up? Is it the relatively small market (compared to to the US, UK and Europe)? Or is it the local record labels being difficult?

Perhaps if we start making a little noise, a decision maker somewhere might realise that there is a market waiting eagerly to served.

I’m not naive to think that a few bloggers having a whinge will actually make Apple Australia get off their arse and magically launch the Australian iTMS, but it certainly can’t hurt.

Let’s make some noise!
