It's Here!

TextMate iconDownload it, play with it, fall in love with it, move it to the place where BBEdit used to be on your Dock, start working faster and smarter, start customising it to suit your needs, experiment with automation and be blown away with the virtually endless customisation and power you now have in your hands.

Notice that all this power doesn’t need a 20-page preferences panel – in fact, it doesn’t need a preferences panel at all.

Wave good bye to BBEdit, register TextMate in the first month to save $10 (it’s a bargain at $49 anyway).

Observe that smile on your face – mine’s been there permanently for over a week. Notice how fast and simple those repetitive tasks used to be. Spend the evenings with loved ones and friends, rather than code.

Be happy that your registration will help the developer buy a Dual G5, which means he’ll be able to work faster, and provide us with even more power much sooner.

I’ll be posting a truckload of quick TextMate how-to’s and tips here over the next week or so. Enjoy.

Disclaimer: Yes, I received a free TextMate license this morning, as a thank you for the many many hours I spent on Beta testing, syntax highlighting, snippet and macro writing, ad hoc graphic design, etc. No, I’m not employed in any way by the TextMate development team, and I don’t stand to profit from it’s success.
