Beta Testing

I’ve set-up minimalist websites for both TextThing and Bandography (yes, that thing I don’t talk about much), both of which are now accepting subscriptions to an announcement mailing list. If you’re interesting in some beta testing, tick the little box on the subscription, and you’re in!

If you’re a musician, band member, band manager, label type, or are otherwise embedded in the music industry (or know anyone who is), I strongly urge you to get on the announcement and beta list for Bandography. Enough said on that one for the moment!

I’ve had truckloads of emails asking for a timeline for TextThing, so I might as well repeat myself here. I’m hoping for something this month (December), but the reality is that I have lots of real work which simply has to get done before Christmas, which obviously has to take priority.

My aim was to launch TextThing before Bandography as some form of self-promotion, and I really really want Bandography unleashed on the public and out of beta in February. So, the answer is “soon”, and that’s about all I can say right now. I’m really cautious of making promises that just can’t be kept.

If you’re wondering how you can help, here’s a few things that come to mind:

  • make sure you check back here often, and offer input to any question I have
  • subscribe to the announcement list(s), so I can see a concrete number of people who are interested – seeing many names will be a nice little motivator
  • tick the beta testing box on the mailing list form so that I know I have some people ready to test
  • as we come closer to launch, please write about this stuff on your own site to get a bit of hype and buzz happening

Apart from that, all I need is time.
