We’ve announced a limited second round of funding at US$399 — that’s lifetime hosting of up to 15 domains, a truckload of bandwidth & server space, etc etc.

To me, this seems like an even better deal that the first offer, and an even safer investment. TextDrive has proven itself as a serious, reliable, stable and boundary-pushing host. People have seen how we support open source software by sharing the profits, and they like the positive “can do” attitude that comes from staff who really know how awful some other hosts can be.

I’ve seen first hand the extreme lengths that we go to make each and every customer happy, I’ve seen the crazy hours the we’re putting in (I’m pretty sure Jason doesn’t sleep at all), and I’ve seen how incredibly dedicated everyone is.

I know I’m biased, because I now work with them, but the $200 I forked out for the VC200 deal over a year ago is some of the best money I’ve ever spent, and I haven’t regretted it for one second. I calculated it against my existing hosting costs and figured “if I get one year out of it, I’ll be happy”. Well, that year has come and gone, and I’m now on what I call “free time” with TextDrive.

I’ve also been able to host the domains for all my projects and help out a few friends here and there, without any worry about the cost. It’s a great feeling to know that I can have an idea, buy the domain, and whack it on my account without any hosting costs. It’s also a great feeling to know that I won’t be paying another hosting bill in the foreseeable future.
